Maths Magic’s goal is to make maths more appealing and enjoyable to a wider range of adult learners, so as to open up new opportunities for them in STEM subjects and careers. It does this by:
- Focusing on ways of bringing out the enjoyment, interest and beauty of maths to non-specialists, especially disengaged adult learners;
- Bringing together practitioners in staff development and networking sessions so as to share and develop ideas about how to do this;
- Drawing on these sessions to create web-based resources that support practitioners teaching adults who are under-performing in, or disengaged with, maths.
Maths Magic is a STEM project funded by HEFCE to help widening participation in Higher Education.
